What better way to get into the fall spirit than with festive screen savers! And you can customize your own!
The easiest way I have found to make these custom screen savers is by drawing on my iPad! It’s quick, straight-forward, and I can easily put the image in my mind on “paper”. It’s so simple and literally anyone can do this.
GETTING STARTED
I use the app Procreate to do any sort of digital art. It’s very user friendly and I love that I can work in layers like in Photoshop. It is $9.99 to download, so if you are not looking to spend money, there are tons of free alternatives on the app store.
Tips on how you can create your own:
- Create a blank canvas of the size 1280 x 800 pixels
- Try to keep your design as clutter free as possible. Minimalism is key. I don’t know about you, but my desktop gets cluttered way too quickly and when it does, it drives my mind crazy. Keeping your desktop background clean and simple will help you stay productive and you’ll feel less scatter-brained. Here’s what helps: Have a one color background and stay away from collages.
- Play around with different brushes. There are tons of options in Procreate which can be overwhelming, but once you test them out, you’ll know what style you like and it will help you in the design process. (The studio pen is my go-to and I love the dry ink brush for a rustic vibe)
- Need Inspiration? Go to Pinterest! If you really have no clue of what you want to do with your design, getting inspo from Pinterest is the best way to go.
FREE DESIGNS
Below are some designs that I made myself. I know I will definitely be using these throughout October and November. Feel free to use these designs yourself! You can download them for free.
To download: right click on the image you want to download, and then click “save image as”. From there you should be able to save the image on your laptop and set it as your screen saver!
